I received my massage training from the Fingerlakes School of Massage, Mt. Kisco in 2010. My massage often incorporates Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Myofascial bodywork, Neuromuscular Therapy, Reflexology, Polarity Therapy, Aromatherapy, and Hot Stones in order to address each client's specific needs. All bodies are welcome and appreciated in my practice. I hold a BFA in Dance and minor in Movement Science from the University of Michigan. I am an actively performing modern/contemporary dancer and a dance teacher. My understanding of body mechanics is highly influenced by Alexander Technique. Personally, I practice yoga and I've had an on-again-off-again running practice, spin class practice, pilates practice, step class practice, and I've been working on my poor swimming technique for a while. I've also, like most of us, sat at desks and stared at computer screens for long periods of time. All these experiences have given me a keen eye for reading physical restrictions, holding patterns and blockages in the body. I've developed an intuitive and educated understanding of the mechanics of movement, a deeply internalized physical empathy, and an appreciation for the interconnectedness of body, emotion, and thought. My goal is for my clients to leave with a greater sense of connectedness and freedom, be it on an emotional, energetic or physical level.
